About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at Milltown Trucking Co Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across long distances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from our trucks, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
  • Operate and Drive Trucks: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
  • Communication: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring that all parties are informed of any issues or concerns.
  • Record Keeping: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo by tarping and securing it properly.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Possess a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A) and meet all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience: Have at least 2 years of experience in long-haul trucking, with a proven track record of safe and efficient driving.
  • Equipment: Be familiar with operating flatbed and tractor-trailer equipment.
  • Transportation Experience: Have experience with long-haul transportation, including overnight stays and varied routes.
  • Security and Safety: Possess a clean driving record, pass a criminal record check, and undergo regular drug testing.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
