Position Overview

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Section Head of Adult Radiology and/or the Diagnostic Imaging Manager. The role involves:

  • Conducting standard radiological examinations for both inpatients and outpatients, including mobile imaging services, while assisting radiologists and other medical professionals with procedures such as Central Line Placements, Fluoroscopy, and operating room tasks.

Experience

  • Prior relevant experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) is advantageous.

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Imaging Technology program is required.

Certification and Licensure

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, with eligibility for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) within three months of employment.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training must comply with employer policies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Preference will be given to candidates with proficiency in Indigenous languages and an understanding of Indigenous customs and values.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities in English, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Demonstrated compassion towards patients, particularly those experiencing high levels of anxiety, is crucial.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the workday.
  • Capability to bend, reach, lift, and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional requirement to maneuver heavy equipment.
  • Ability to lift and position patients, including those who may be unconscious.
  • Exposure to patients with severe injuries is expected.
