About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intake Worker to join our team at the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society. As an Intake Worker, you will play a critical role in assessing the needs of our clients and connecting them with the appropriate services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of social programs and services to ensure they meet the needs of our clients.
  • Conduct individual, family, or group interviews to assess client situations and problems, and determine the types of services required.
  • Train or assist in the training of other workers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality services.
  • Perform front desk duties, including answering phones and responding to client inquiries.
  • Engage in community program development to identify new opportunities for service delivery and partnerships.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
Work Setting
  • Various locations, including Aboriginal band councils, rehabilitation centers, and employee assistance programs.
