Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resource Teacher to join our team at Frontier School Division. As a Resource Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting the educational needs of our students and contributing to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and modify curriculum to meet the needs of students with special needs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of behavioral intervention plans and provide support to students with behavioral challenges.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student strengths and areas of need, and develop strategies to support student learning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting student learning.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and instructional support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education degree and preferably a Master's Degree in Education or related field.
  • Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for).
  • Manitoba Special Education certificate or certification in progress.
  • At least five years of teaching experience.
  • Previous experience as a Resource Teacher.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life.
  • Excellent understanding of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instruction.
  • Knowledge and training in formal and informal assessment.
  • Familiar with appropriate educational programming.
  • Ability to complete provincial documentation requirements for appropriate educational programming.
  • Ability to interpret educational and cognitive assessments.
  • Willingness to be trained in intervention programs presently in place.
  • A commitment to continue to support on-going programs in the school.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
