Job Summary:
TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our financial team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations of our client, a thriving export and trade company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Supervise a team of 6 accountants, ensuring the smooth operation of accounting activities.
- Financial Operations: Oversee the day-to-day activities in accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Financial Reporting: Review financial statements and prepare regular reports, including month-end closing statements, quarterly reports to the bank, accounts payable and accounts receivable reports, etc.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and manage relationships with banks, CRA, and auditors.
- Department Controls: Develop and implement department controls and procedures, and delegate, supervise, and participate in accounting department tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Education: BComm or equivalent, plus CPA, MBA or pursuing.
- Experience: 8+ years experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Skills: Experience with Quickbooks and Sage 300 is preferred, strong Excel and other Microsoft applications skills, and excellent English communication skills.
