Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team in Edmonton, AB. As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for providing drafting and design support in the delivery of a variety of exciting and complex projects across the recreation, healthcare, institutional, education, industrial/manufacturing, and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and prepare mechanical contract drawings, schematics, and schedules focused on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Perform design and engineering tasks, including system and equipment sizing and selection, to support Project Managers and Engineers as part of the mechanical design team.
  • Conduct site reviews and surveys and generate engineering reports.
  • Monitor quality and cost control during project design.
  • Develop relationships with industry colleagues and clients.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver accurate contract documents.
  • Prepare and review specifications.

Requirements

  • Certificate or diploma in related mechanical engineering or engineering technology from an accredited University or College with emphasis on mechanical buildings design.
  • Experience in collaborative design with expertise in Autodesk Revit, BIM360. Proficiency in AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Familiar with municipal and provincial codes, ASHRAE, and NFPA.
  • 7+ years of technical design and engineering experience for commercial and institutional buildings.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
  • Keen attention to fine details of a project or task and ability to perform work accurately with strong technical aptitude.
