About the Role

We are seeking a Support Substitute (Learning Assistant) to join our team at Rocky View Schools. As a Support Substitute, you will provide support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms and other educational environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students with diverse needs, including those with behavioral and emotional challenges
  • Assist students with individualized programming plans (IPP) and provide additional support as needed
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other educational professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Establish a rapport with students and provide assistance with personal care, toileting, and feeding as needed
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Education Assistant Certificate or enrolled in an education assistant program
  • Training in preventative/de-escalating behavior course or willingness to become certified
  • Training or experience working with students with extreme and complex behavioral and emotional needs in an educational setting
