About the Role:

As a Privacy Analyst at First Nations Bank of Canada, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the bank's data privacy practices. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and ensure that the handling, storage, and dissemination of personal information comply with relevant privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chief Privacy Officer in overseeing the bank's Privacy program.
  • Conduct thorough privacy impact assessments and audits to evaluate compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive privacy policies and procedures in alignment with legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure that data protection measures are effectively integrated into technology platforms and business processes.
  • Monitor changes in privacy legislation and adapt company policies to maintain compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on privacy matters, including data handling and breach response protocols.
  • Assist with the management of data subject access requests, ensuring timely and compliant processing.
  • Investigate and respond to privacy incidents and breaches, including coordinating with legal, IT, and communication teams as necessary.
  • Advise on privacy implications during the development and launch of new products or services.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third parties to ensure their practices align with the organization's privacy standards.
  • Conduct regular privacy risk assessments and recommend mitigating strategies to management.
  • Document and maintain records of all privacy-related processes and decisions for accountability and audit purposes.
  • Generate regular reports and documentation on the privacy program's status, risks, and compliance.

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience working in a privacy role.
  • Privacy certifications considered an asset, e.g., CIPP.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
