Key Responsibilities- Estimating and Planning: Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for various construction projects.
- Site Preparation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure accurate execution.
- Carpentry and Joinery: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to create high-quality structures.
- Installation and Finishing: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to ensure seamless integration with existing structures.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior workers to ensure efficient project execution and high-quality results.
- Cost Management: Estimate costs and materials required for projects, ensuring accurate budgeting and minimizing waste.
- Physical Demands: The role requires frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads, making it a physically demanding position.
- Workload and Pressure: The workload can be large, and the role requires individuals who can work under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Education and Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in carpentry or a related field, with a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Language and Work Schedule: Fluency in English is required, and the work schedule is 30 to 40 hours per week.
