About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at Great Blue Heron Charity Casino. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and report internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
- Document and prepare written and electronic statements.
- Escort guests and employees, and enforce restricted access by unauthorized persons.
- Observe transactions, slot drops, and chip fills, and transfer items to Lost & Found.
- Perform identification checks on guests under 30, and refer disputes to the Supervisor, Security.
- Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the property, and perform crowd control as directed.
- Attend to first aid incidents, and ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations.
- Assist the Supervisor, Security with enrolling guests in the Self-Exclusion program.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a customer service/public service role or in the service industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
- Previous experience or training in security an asset.
- Computer literacy in MS Office, and ability to organize data with great accuracy.
- Able to work independently, and apply good judgment and discretion under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Training and Licenses
- A valid class "G" driver's license with a clear driving record.
- A current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Ability to successfully obtain Smart Serve certification.
- Ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
