Position: Family Law Specialist

Location: Multiple Options

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage family law files, ensuring timely and effective resolution of complex matters.
  • Handle a wide range of family law matters, including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division, with a focus on delivering exceptional results.
  • Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, utilizing strong negotiation and advocacy skills to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients, maintaining open and transparent communication throughout the process.
  • Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials, leveraging expertise in family law to secure successful resolutions.
  • Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.
  • Experience in general civil litigation is an asset, as it provides a solid foundation for handling complex family law matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of current experience in British Columbia family law practice, with a strong understanding of local laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Desire to become part of a dynamic team and contribute to the growth and success of the firm.
  • Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership, with a focus on delivering exceptional results and exceeding client expectations.

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $110,000 – $160,000, depending on the year of call and experience, with opportunities for bonuses and professional development.
