**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Dockworker to join our team in the Thunder Bay Office. This role is responsible for completing various warehouse tasks at our Winnipeg terminal, including unloading trailers and processing associated paperwork.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Count and inspect freight for damages, shortages, or overages
  • Strip trailers and place freight in the correct area of the warehouse
  • Unload freight according to established procedures
  • Move freight efficiently to minimize claims
  • Optimize time and unloading processes to maximize efficiency
  • Monitor and complete bills of lading and other shipping documents
  • Maintain a clean and organized dock area
  • Practice and promote a safe work environment by following all safety procedures
  • Dispose of waste properly to avoid hazards
  • Perform other duties as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the dock

**Requirements**

We are looking for a candidate with a high school diploma and at least two years of experience working in a fast-paced logistics environment. Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills are essential. The ability to work with minimal supervision and be a team player is also required.

**Physical Demands**

The physical demands of this role are above average. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50lbs from shoulders to floor, bend and twist consistently, and stand and walk for extended periods. A good sense of balance, hand and foot coordination, and ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights are necessary. The candidate must also be able to operate small equipment such as power jacks, forklifts, and hand dollies. Personal protective equipment must be worn.
