Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Inventory Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a key member of our Operating Room team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing stock control systems and procedures for OR supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain stock control systems and procedures for OR supplies and equipment
  • Complete requisitions for OR supplies and equipment, contact suppliers and representatives, conduct inventory audits, and establish and/or revise re-order points
  • Maintain the OR Preference Card Item Dictionary, as well as Doctors Preference Cards systems and processes
  • Participate and support the reprocessing systems used for the operating room in accordance with best practices
Requirements
  • Grade twelve (12), successful completion of a Sterile Supply Processing course, and three (3) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology
  • Ability to keyboard 40 w.p.m.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Ability to organize work
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
