Mechanic - Bus Maintenance Specialist

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at Autobus Yamaska inc. in the Eastern Townships. As a key member of our mechanical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our school buses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain school buses to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Perform road tests to identify any issues or defects.
  • Complete mechanical maintenance reports and work orders to document repairs and maintenance.
  • Perform paint and finishing repairs as needed.
  • Follow-up on the Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) to ensure all buses are properly maintained.
  • Compile parts lists for repairs and keep inventory up to date.
  • Monitor warranties and issue parts release slips on work orders.
  • Organize the workshop, including equipment and storage.
  • Research technical documentation to stay up-to-date on the latest repair techniques and technologies.
  • Clean work and wash areas to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Install radio, camera, and GPS equipment on new vehicles.
  • Detect mechanical problems and perform repairs as needed.

Requirements

  • DEP in heavy vehicle mechanics or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of diesel mechanics.
  • Knowledge of electric propulsion.
  • Knowledge of Cummins, Wabco, Outlook, and Allison software.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic brakes.
  • PEP card (an asset).
  • Valid Canadian work permit.
