Context:

The Central Regional Office is responsible for maintaining and supporting all NL Housing rental properties in the Grand Falls and Gander areas, while also delivering a variety of programs tailored for low to moderate income households and homeowners.

This region provides a comprehensive range of services, including the reception and processing of rental applications; management of rental accounts and lease compliance; provision of various client services and tenant relations; and oversight of property maintenance.

Regional staff are actively involved in the implementation of the Provincial Home Repair, Home Modification, Home Energy Savings, Partner Managed Housing, and Rent Supplement Programs.


Duties:

The incumbent is responsible for the management of rental housing accounts; they provide information and refer clients to programs and services offered by NL Housing and other governmental departments/agencies, as well as community organizations.

The Housing Officer ensures that client accounts are accurately maintained and collects any outstanding rental payments.

Responsibilities also include representing NL Housing at Residential Tenancy Board Hearings and participating in various internal and external committees, reviewing and contributing to corporate policy, and preparing briefing notes.

The incumbent must effectively manage a portfolio of rental accounts and organize/prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
A degree in a related field of social sciences or business is required (equivalencies may be considered).
