Position Overview:

As a Strategic Software Procurement Specialist at Applied Materials, you will be instrumental in collaborating with business partners and advancing sourcing initiatives that align with the company's vision of 'Making Possible'. Your role will emphasize innovation, efficiency, partnership, and adherence to compliance standards. The Global Procurement Services (GPS) team is essential to our operations, acquiring vital resources across diverse categories including IT Hardware, Software, Services, Telecommunications, Consulting, Professional Services, Facilities, Real Estate, Equipment, Equipment Maintenance, and Contingent Workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement strategic sourcing and procurement plans within the IT sector.
  • Work in conjunction with GPS Commodity Business Managers to establish category strategies.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and budget managers.
  • Oversee supplier communications, conduct market research, perform data analysis, and manage contracts.
  • Lead opportunity assessments, supplier negotiations, and performance evaluations.
  • Facilitate the gathering of product/service requirements and conduct supplier assessments.
  • Support spend management initiatives and process improvements.
  • Develop global strategies while collaborating with local sourcing teams as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years in indirect procurement and sourcing.
  • Expertise in Software, Cloud, SAAS, and IT Sourcing.
  • Global experience with varied cultures and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficient in procurement software and analytical tools.

Compensation: Salary range of $108,000 to $148,500, determined by various factors including experience and internal equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package and potential bonuses.
