Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at LAYERS OF JOY LTD. As a key member of our bakery, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards by inspecting kitchen and food service areas.
  • Machinery Operation: Operate machinery as required.
  • Special Orders: Prepare special orders as needed.
Work Environment

You will be working in a fast-paced bakery environment, with a focus on producing high-quality products. As a Baker at LAYERS OF JOY LTD, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of ingredients and develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive team.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset.
  • Work Setting: Bake shop or large volume bakery.
  • Supervision: 1 to 2 people.
  • Food Specialties: Desserts and pastries, wedding and specialty cakes, cake decorating.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, reliability, team player.
