Gill Welding And Trailer Repair Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Welding Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our skilled welders by assisting with various tasks essential to the smooth operation of our workshop.

As a Welding Assistant, your responsibilities will encompass a range of duties, including:

  • Transporting raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Providing assistance to structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, and other metalworkers.
  • Sorting metal sheets, parts, scrap metal, and other materials.
  • Using hand tools to grind or chip excess metal from metal products.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area by cleaning machines and immediate surroundings.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles as needed.
  • Polishing metal products to achieve a mirror finish.
  • Interpreting and following work orders accurately.
  • Operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment under the guidance of experienced welders.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a welding environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
