Position Overview

Are you passionate about nursing? We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse committed to providing empathetic patient care to become a part of our healthcare team.
Under the supervision of the Unit Manager, the ER/ICU Registered Nurse delivers direct nursing services to patients in Emergency and Critical Care settings, adhering to established standards and protocols. The ER/ICU RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing interventions to support patients in fulfilling their physical, social, and psychological needs in high-pressure environments. Nursing practices are aligned with the vision and values of Northern Health, as well as the BCCNM Standards of Nursing Practice and Code of Ethics. The Registered Nurse will follow the approved policies, procedures, and protocols of Northeast Health Services Area.
Work Schedule: Rotating shifts including Days and Nights - 07:30 to 19:30, 19:30 to 07:30.
Compensation: The new wage is set at $55.91/hour.
About the Facility
This healthcare facility is a 50-bed institution providing comprehensive services including inpatient care, emergency services, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, surgical procedures, obstetrics and gynecology, laboratory services, medical imaging, and cancer treatment. It serves as the orthopedic and trauma center for the northeastern region.

Qualifications Required
- Active registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN.
- Current Level C CPR certification; ACLS and CTAS certifications required or to be obtained within twelve months of hire.
- Minimum one year of recent experience in an Emergency Department or Critical Care Unit; two years of recent medical/surgical experience or equivalent.
- Completion of or willingness to enroll in a postgraduate Critical Care or Emergency Department course.
- Current certification in TNCC and ENPC is an asset.
- Willingness to complete in-house certification courses as necessary.
