Job Title: Vice-President, Corporate Compliance Advisory

Reporting to the Director, Regulatory Governance, the Vice-President, Corporate Compliance Advisory will work closely with the Corporate Compliance team to manage regulatory change and execute the Canada Branch compliance risk management program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide subject matter expert support and advice to Canada Branch on regulatory matters, including Bank Act, Privacy, OSFI Guidelines, and other compliance requirements.
  • Lead the execution of regulatory compliance risk assessments, monitoring and responding to regulatory changes, and maintaining compliance regulations and controls libraries.
  • Design and execute corporate compliance projects and action plans to remediate compliance issues owned by the Corporate Compliance Department.
  • Oversee the management of compliance-related policies and procedures, including acting as liaison with the central policy management team.
  • Support key elements of compliance data governance, including managing inventory of Corporate Compliance end-user computing assets and managing compliance metadata.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (required); Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) from a recognized Canadian law school, called to the Bar of Ontario (preferred).
  • Minimum of three years of experience in financial services compliance (required); two years of progressive experience in a leading Canadian law firm or as in-house counsel for a federally regulated financial institution (preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, and outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, ability to work with multiple stakeholders, and excellent communicator with strong written and oral communication skills.
