Capital Planning Analyst Role

Reporting to the Director or Manager, the Capital Planning Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the Corporate and Capital Planning Branch. Key responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Alberta Health Services and Alberta Infrastructure to develop project business cases and programming studies, ensuring alignment with Ministry priorities and strategic directions.
  • Analyze capital plans, master plans, service plans, needs assessments, business cases, and programming studies to provide recommendations for project approval.
  • Support Directors and Managers in planning projects and preparing the health submission for the government capital planning process.
  • Provide documentation support for project announcements, news releases, government correspondence, capital plan announcements, and requests for additional project funding.
  • Participate in project committees and management teams to ensure compliance with health policy, standards, and guidelines.
  • Monitor and report on projects in the planning stages, identifying issues and recommending solutions to advance projects.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to resolve project issues and prepare briefings and written responses to Action Requests.
  • Manage or support the management of capital grants and contracts.

This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
