The role of a Senior Enterprise Solution Strategist is pivotal in guiding the architecture and management of comprehensive solutions within the organization. This position entails leading and supporting enterprise architecture initiatives that shape the development and oversight of solutions spanning various domains, including projects, systems, shared infrastructure services, and application services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transform business and technical requirements into a cohesive architectural framework that aligns with business objectives, ensuring thorough documentation of all architectural design and analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners and managers to establish a robust architectural foundation that accommodates future business needs throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Assess business drivers and capabilities, both current and future, to inform enterprise solution designs and necessary changes that facilitate the organization’s targeted outcomes.
  • Evaluate the existing solution portfolio to identify areas of improvement, particularly in relation to aging technologies or misalignment with business needs.
  • Assist product managers in making informed decisions regarding the lifecycle of products, including maintenance, refresh, or retirement of services and systems.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and their practical applications to support evolving business and operational models.
  • Conduct analyses of the technology landscape, including competitors and market trends, to gauge their potential impact on proposed solutions.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of software standards and services, designing both standard and custom software configurations as needed.
  • Consult on application and infrastructure development projects to ensure alignment with architectural standards and make necessary adjustments to designs.
  • Oversee the design and analysis of solutions architecture across a range of business applications or technologies, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and standards.
  • Develop a strategic roadmap for the evolution of the enterprise solution portfolio, transitioning from current to future states as defined by the architectural vision.
  • Act as a consultant on a diverse array of technologies and vendor offerings to drive desired business outcomes.
  • Create architectural designs that provide guidance and context for solution development across various products, services, and systems.
  • Work in conjunction with the project management office to ensure project execution aligns with commitments made throughout the lifecycle.
  • Provide consulting support to application architects to ensure project alignment with the overarching enterprise architecture.
  • Deliver key artifacts such as standard definitions, reference models, and architectural designs to support governance and assess the impact of technology investments.
  • Establish governance activities to ensure compliance and assurance in solutions architecture.
  • Define principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure alignment with the enterprise's future-state architectural vision.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, with a focus on business and application architecture.
  • Exposure to a variety of technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
  • Solid understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends and their application to business models.
  • Familiarity with product management, agile methodologies, and the ability to support teams with insights on opportunities and risks.
  • Experience in developing architectural blueprints and strategies.
  • Proficient in delivering presentations to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Knowledge of various aspects of technology architecture, including integration, network, and security.
  • Understanding of IT service management and architecture frameworks.
