Technical Line Lead

The Technical Line Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our extrusion lines. This position is responsible for restoring flow, conducting analysis to identify issues, and implementing corrective measures. The Technical Line Lead must also assist the work cell in preventing variation that affects quality, costs, production/schedule, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the activities of the Set-Up Team, Welder, and Process Technician, performing duties related to Rolling Mill Setup, Welding, and Process Technician as required.
- Provide support to Rolling Mill Set-up Technicians with troubleshooting during the operation of the line.
- Report equipment and tooling problems/abnormalities to the supervisor immediately.
- Operate the shadowgraph and PLV system to ensure cross-sections are within Mylar specifications, and ensure that a heat #/lot #, metal size, job #/part #, and welder's initials are on every coil.
- Ensure a steady supply of WIP/Components for all lines, inform the shift supervisor if there is any material shortage, and ensure all metal skids – full and partial – are properly identified, reported, and stored.
- Initiate and support the examination of low-efficiency extrusion lines to identify necessary actions to improve quality, scrap, downtime, and other issues to improve KPIs.
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, preferred. Minimum 2 years of Extrusion experience required.
- Must possess leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. to the waist and 30 lbs. overhead.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset.
- Valid forklift license.
- Rolling Mill Set Up experience and Welding Experience preferred.
