Position Overview:
As the Technical Engineering Lead, you will oversee the engineering division responsible for product innovation, production processes, and on-site technical support. This role is pivotal in driving the engineering team's strategic objectives and operational targets. Your responsibilities will encompass extensive project management, mechanical and hydraulic design, as well as providing guidance and training to field staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and supervise all personnel within the engineering division.
  • Facilitate design evaluations, offer design guidance, and resolve issues during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and commissioning.
  • Accountable for achieving tactical objectives and design milestones set forth by senior management in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with senior management to establish an efficient SolidWorks environment, aiming to minimize the time required for drawing creation and documentation processes.
  • Engage in the design process:
  • Transform concepts into technical drawings and schematics utilizing SolidWorks and DraftSight.
  • Oversee the development of new products, including drafting specifications and designs, and coordinating product launch activities to ensure seamless rollouts.
  • Develop Owner's Manuals in accordance with engineering and marketing specifications.
  • Assist in the construction of prototypes for production tools and new products.
  • Provide hands-on support to shop floor, field, and customer personnel, including remote assistance for the installation of new production equipment and troubleshooting production tooling issues.
  • Deliver remote and on-site support to customers during the installation and operation of new products, gathering feedback for future enhancements.
  • Implement SolidWorks best practices throughout the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • P.Eng. certification is a valuable asset.
  • Robust background in project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Comprehension of process equipment functions and familiarity with technical concepts.
  • Ability to create and analyze basic engineering models and calculations with guidance.
  • Capable of developing and evaluating engineering models, drawings, and calculations under supervision.
  • Proficient in modifying applications such as Excel or databases to optimize data management.
  • Expertise in SolidWorks and DraftSight is required.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of engineering experience, ideally within a manufacturing context.
  • A commitment to learning and cross-training within the organization.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • May involve physical effort in operational support.
Work Environment:
Exposure to noise and a plant environment.
