Job Summary

At Vail Resorts, we're committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. As an Assistant Manager at Steeps Bar and Grille, you'll play a key role in ensuring our food and beverage operations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of Steeps Bar and Grille, including front and back of house staff, to ensure seamless service and high-quality food preparation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase employee engagement.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a passion for delivering exceptional service and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and control labor costs, inventory, and expenses to achieve budgetary targets.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to staff to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Participate in leadership forums to share best practices, provide input on operational improvements, and contribute to the development of company-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of restaurant experience, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • ServSafe certification or regional equivalent required.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout a shift, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English; bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard strongly preferred.
