Key Responsibilities- Raw Material Supply Security: Achieve raw material supply security for Volkswagen's cell factory in St. Thomas by identifying and securing battery raw materials.
- Investment Qualification and Execution: Participate in the investment qualification and execution process by conducting detailed market scans to identify potential investment or cooperation targets.
- Strategic Roadmap Development: Develop strategic roadmaps that deliver financial, operational, and sustainability benefits.
- Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis: Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis through data gathering, market analysis, and financial modeling.
- Presentation and Communication: Prepare presentation materials to summarize recommendations and action plans, and liaise with counterparts in other functional areas of the company.
- Supplier Onboarding and Negotiation: Responsible for onboarding new local suppliers and supporting negotiations with local suppliers.
- Technical Feasibility and Commercial Fit: Evaluate the technical feasibility and commercial fit of proposals, projects, and suppliers.
- Relationship Development: Develop and maintain relationships with local key stakeholders in the battery raw materials industry.
- Education: Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Business Administration, Marketing, Strategy, or related area, and/or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Experience: 7+ years professional experience in purchasing and business development, with knowledge of raw materials sector, specifically Lithium, Nickel, Cobalt, and Manganese, as well as upstream battery production processes.
- Skills: Experience in Business Development and/or Strategic Procurement, managing competitive tenders, and successfully negotiating outcomes, with a strong drive and passion to bring a business on a transformation journey.
- Flexible Work Arrangements: This is a flex hybrid model, requiring 2 days per week in the St. Thomas office.
