Family Medicine Physician

We are seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join our collaborative family practice team in Dartmouth North. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a team-based care approach, where patients are attached to a core team of healthcare professionals. Our clinic is located in the heart of Dartmouth North, and we are connected to other practices within the area through a shared EMR and Urgent Care Centre care models.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Examine patients, take health histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures, and advise patients on health care and health promotion
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
- Act as patients' advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, inoculation, and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
- Participate collaboratively as a member of a collaborative family practice team
- Participate in continuous quality improvement as a member of the team
Full-time hours
QualificationsEligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
Member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
