About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Trainer to join our team at 0050 United Rentals of Canada, Inc. as a key member of our Safety Department. As a Safety Trainer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the provision of effective safety training for our customers, which generates revenue through our company's value proposition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop customized safety training courses for key customers, focusing on equipment operations and safety protocols.
  • Schedule, conduct, and monitor division safety training programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Train customer employees on required safety training programs and other safety training as necessary, providing expertise on safety training requirements based on customer account.
  • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions on safety training programs for delivery to equipment operators, covering topics such as aerial work platforms, forklifts, and excavators.
  • Coordinate instructor and operator training for customer employees, ensuring adequate trainers are in place throughout each district in the region and division.
  • Provide division training support when needed to internal instructor trainees, branch employees, and equipment operators, maintaining internal training networks.
  • Work with sales, marketing, and operations functions to support customer-facing safety requirements, meeting with customers to actively communicate programs and progress of objectives.
  • Propose customized training packages based on unique needs of each customer, leveraging expertise in safety training and equipment operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or a combination of college and related work experience required.
  • Bilingual (French-English) required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in conducting safety training for equipment operators required, with experience conducting train-the-trainer programs preferred.
  • Safety experience or formal safety education preferred.
  • Demonstrated mastery of a company safety training program and content delivery required.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Provincial occupational safety regulations, including OSHA, FAA, MSHA, EPA, and health standards such as ANSI, NFPA, NEC, and other non-regulatory safety codes and standards required.
  • Knowledge of MSHA requirements with associated training programs, such as aerial work platforms, forklifts, and new miner training, required.
  • Team facilitation skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional settings, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated mastery of sales skills, including selling value over price and selling the value of training to internal sales forces and potential customers.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office suite required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Travel approximately 70% of the time.
  • May need to lift over 20 lbs at times.
