Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain effective environmental health and safety programs across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental health and safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Environmental Health and Safety Programs: Create and implement comprehensive environmental health and safety programs that meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct Hazardous Materials Surveys: Conduct regular surveys of laboratory and waste areas to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Implement Emergency Response Programs: Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Conduct Regular Inspections: Perform regular inspections of laboratories, support areas, and offices to identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Train and Educate Employees: Provide training and education to employees on environmental health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of environmental health and safety activities, including inspections, training, and incident reports.
Requirements:
  • Strong Background in Environmental Health and Safety: A minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental health and safety, preferably in a power and utilities industry.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
