Under the supervision of the Client Services Manager – Rehabilitation Services, the Speech-Language Therapist will function autonomously as a vital member of a multidisciplinary regional rehabilitation team.

The role involves engaging in the planning, execution, and assessment of rehabilitation services, employing a client-focused, goal-oriented methodology for both pediatric and adult demographics.

Services provided encompass evaluation, direct treatment, consultation, and educational outreach for parents and caregivers across various environments, including acute care, outpatient facilities, long-term care, private residences, educational institutions, and other community venues.

The Speech-Language Therapist may also offer clinical oversight and mentorship for students and provisional staff, as well as contribute to the training of other healthcare professionals.

The current focus of the caseload is on adult clients.

Requirements include active registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba.

  • Eligibility for membership with Speech-Language and Audiology Canada
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications and email management
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is essential
  • Proficiency in both official languages is mandatory for specific bilingual roles
  • Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as necessary
  • All healthcare professionals must be immunized as a condition of employment
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 are required
