We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bilingual Disability Claims Manager to join our team at SP Data Digital. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing disability claims and ensuring that our customers receive the support they need in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Claims Management: Investigate, evaluate, and determine eligibility for initial and ongoing payment claims based on medical information, job requirements, non-medical factors, contract terms, and department/industry protocols within established service standards.
- Active Claims Management: Manage active claims duration by utilizing best practices, ensuring that claims are processed and resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
- Communication: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all communication with customers, including claimants and employers.
- Case Management: Formulate and implement a detailed case management plan on each file, focusing on a timely, sustainable, and safe return to work, interact with and appropriately challenge treating physicians and employers, make referrals for independent medical assessments and to alternate insurance organizations (federal, provincial, and private insurers).
- Collaboration: Collaborate with in-house return-to-work facilitators to design and monitor return-to-work programs, and work with team members to exchange ideas, gather information, and offer solutions on claims.
- Customer Communication: Ensure proactive communication with our customers regarding claim status and developments, based on department standards.
- File Resolution: Accountable for positive file resolution and appropriate outcomes.
- Bilingualism: Must be Bilingual (French/English).
- Education: Completion of a university degree in anatomy, biology, kinesiology, life sciences, or psychology.
- Experience: 3+ years of work experience in disability claim management.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology and Disability Management best practices/protocols, knowledge of relevant provincial employment legislation and legal requirements, knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, internet, and database software.
- Skills: Well-developed verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills, ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member, prioritize and balance multiple tasks, and research, analyze, evaluate, negotiate, make decisions, and resolve problems.
- Competitive Salary: Competitive salaries with annual pay increases, $65,000 to $80,000 annually; based on experience.
