As a vital member of the North Vancouver Recreation & Culture team, the Recreation Programmer II will play a key role in enhancing the recreational and cultural experiences of our community. Your Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and evaluate a variety of community-based recreation programs.
- Foster interest and participation in program activities.
- Supervise staff to ensure smooth program operations.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Extensive knowledge of recreational, social, and cultural needs for individuals with disabilities, including access considerations.
- Strong understanding of community recreation principles and practices.
- Proficiency in various aspects of recreation programming, including youth, fitness, and inclusion.
- Ability to manage program budgets and schedules, supervise staff, and assist community groups.
- Direct experience working with individuals with disabilities in service planning.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and independent judgment.
- Proficiency in software such as PerfectMind, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
Educational Background:
A degree or diploma in leisure and recreation or a related field, along with relevant supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a recreational setting focused on community development and engagement.
Additional Requirements:
A valid Class 5 BC driver's license and access to a vehicle for work-related duties. Candidates must be prepared to work at various locations within North Vancouver Recreation & Culture. A Police Information Check is mandatory for this position.
