Job Title: Counter / Inside Salesperson

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Counter / Inside Salesperson to join our team at EMCO Corporation. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, sales support, and product knowledge to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide sales support to walk-in customers and on the phone, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain, stock, and keep a clean counter sales area, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Assist customers with purchasing material, researching products, and providing recommendations on our assortment of products.
  • Drive sales growth through ownership of counter merchandising, product promotion, and generating leads for the Outside Account Manager.
  • Enter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter and on the phone.
  • Maintain and clean the counter area, including merchandising displays.
  • Inform the purchasing team when stock levels are low.
  • Follow up on backorders with vendors and provide customers with accurate delivery dates.
  • Process returns and warranty claims to customers, both on account and cash sales.
  • Navigate and find solutions for customer concerns and complaints.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; college and/or university degree an asset.
  • Experience with customer service or counter sales.
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates.
  • Ability to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
