About the Role:
Interior Health Authority is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Infection Prevention and Control team as a Hand Hygiene Audit Student. As an integral part of our team, you will play a crucial role in promoting patient safety and quality improvement by observing and providing feedback on healthcare workers' hand hygiene practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hand hygiene audit observations, including electronic data collection
- Provide education to staff on hand hygiene practices, when knowledge level allows
- Engage staff in the hand hygiene process through questions, discussions, and interactive demonstrations, when knowledge level allows
- Identify staff learning needs (knowledge gaps) and assess barriers to effective hand hygiene practice
- Assist in hand hygiene promotional activities and other Infection Prevention and Control initiatives or projects
