Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to join our Planning department at J.D. Irving, Limited. As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of planners, ensuring the efficient execution of shipbuilding projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of planners to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Train staff in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Prepare production and other reports to track project progress.
  • Manage the creation of job packs and schedules in accordance with the integrated master schedule.
  • Work closely with production control to ensure continuous improvement and feedback.
  • Validate and check detail planner work to ensure quality in schedule and job pack creation.
  • Communicate schedules and requirements to stakeholders via schedule reviews and meetings.
  • Create job packages to enable production to efficiently execute work.
  • Integrate mechanical and electrical systems within the detail planning network.
  • Manage system and milestone details schedules through phase to completion.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field, such as engineering or project management.
  • 5+ years of experience in a planning and/or production environment, with a focus on shipbuilding.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • Ability to read and understand ship construction terminology and drawings.
  • Experience with scheduling software, such as P6 Primavera or AVEVA.
  • Strong communication and delivery skills.
