Key Responsibilities :

Staff Leadership

Oversee recruitment, management, and leadership of team members; provide coaching and constructive feedback aligned with performance management and career development. Collaborate with Human Resources to address and resolve conflicts and performance challenges, implementing corrective measures as necessary. Facilitate training, development, and deployment opportunities for staff.

Financial Oversight

Modify financial management and reporting practices to meet organizational requirements. Evaluate and refine processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and reporting obligations.

Budgeting and Financial Planning

Engage in operational planning and the formulation of annual and multi-year budgets, ensuring compliance with established guidelines. Generate monthly financial forecasts based on thorough analysis, ensuring timely distribution to stakeholders for review. Prepare regular reports highlighting key financial and operational metrics to support informed decision-making.

Administrative Management

Supervise the management and administration of facilities. Guide the administrative team in their responsibilities. Ensure effective support services to fulfill operational needs.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

Promote and participate in mandatory health and safety training and orientation. Foster respectful communication among all personnel and clients to cultivate a safe and healthy work environment. Adhere to health, safety, and quality assurance policies to safeguard employees, volunteers, and clients.

Qualifications :

A university degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline, along with a professional accounting designation (CPA). At least 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience. Experience managing a team in a unionized setting is advantageous. Background in philanthropic and non-profit sectors is preferred. Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, techniques, and policies is essential. Proficient written and verbal communication skills in both French and English, with the ability to engage effectively with executives. Skilled in MS Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel (advanced), and PowerPoint. Strong professionalism and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and build productive relationships. Detail-oriented with excellent analytical capabilities. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Ability to think critically and solve problems creatively.

Working Conditions :

This hybrid role is based in Montreal. In-office attendance may be necessary based on job demands. Flexibility in working hours is required for on-call duties and emergency responses. Most work will be conducted in an office setting. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. If not a citizen or permanent resident, please review visa eligibility for the position. Selected candidates will undergo a pre-employment screening process, including a satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC). Given the nature of our work with diverse stakeholders, applicants whose first language is not English may need to perform job responsibilities in English.
