Beem Credit Union, a leading financial institution in BC, is seeking a skilled Public Relations Manager to join its team. With a strong presence across the province, Beem offers a wide range of personal and commercial banking services, as well as insurance and wealth management solutions.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven individual to develop and execute our PR strategy, build and maintain relationships with media professionals, and lead crisis communications management. If you have a passion for curating compelling narratives and navigating complex communication challenges, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and contribute to communications strategy from a public relations and media relations standpoint, ensuring alignment with Beem's broader business objectives and values.
  • Develop and execute Beem's PR strategy and communicate to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Beem employees are up to date with and engaged in relevant PR initiatives or information.
  • Develop and maintain standards, guidelines, and procedures for corporate and branch public relations initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets to facilitate timely and effective public communications.
  • Manage external public relations through press releases, corporate annual reports, and earned and paid media articles.
  • Pitch news story ideas, coordinate interviews, and manage media inquiries to secure positive news and media coverage for Beem.
  • Lead the development and execution of crisis communication planning, ensuring readiness of key spokespeople.
Requirements
  • Degree in business, communications, or marketing.
  • Minimum years' experience in public relations and/or corporate communications.
  • Experience building and maintaining proactive PR strategy.
  • Experience in a fast-changing organization; experience with PR surrounding M&A initiatives is a strong asset.
