Senior Traffic Monitoring Specialist

Join the Manitoba Government team as a Senior Monitoring Technician and contribute to the development and implementation of sophisticated technical traffic data collection systems.
Job Summary:The Senior Monitoring Technician provides construction management on projects of moderate complexity and supervises assigned department staff. This role performs responsible paraprofessional work to develop and design technical traffic data collection systems and monitors construction contractors in all aspects of installation of traffic monitoring data collection equipment while adhering to Department standards, policies, and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and design technical traffic data collection systems
- Supervise and manage assigned department staff
- Monitor construction contractors and ensure compliance with Department standards
- Maintain existing traffic count stations and manage traffic monitoring systems and equipment
- Completion of an Electrical/Electronic/Civil engineering diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience supervising, leading, and training staff, including providing technical guidance and coaching
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a diverse team environment
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety, Health, and Risk Management policies and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience conducting traffic counts and installing traffic monitoring equipment
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to maintain accurate records and prepare technical reports
