Cost Controller

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Controller to join our team in Toronto, Ontario. As a key member of our project control team, you will be responsible for managing the complete project control cycle, including setting up projects, updating, monitoring, controlling, and reporting.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage project budgets, potential changes, Change Orders, commitments, accruals, progress, and forecasts.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including planning and scheduling teams, for project controls data reconciliation and integrated project reporting.
- Participate in regular meetings with project teams, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure project progress and achievement of objectives.
- Prepare and transmit project performance reports to management, as well as other documents related to project portfolios.
- Manage cost allocations related to the purchase of goods and services through the procurement process.
- Ensure project progress follow-up with discipline managers, including cost and schedule controls.
Requirements
- University degree or College diploma in Engineering, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years previous experience in a related role within an engineering or construction environment.
- Proven ability to understand complex project planning, scope, schedule, work breakdown structures, and cost breakdown structures.
- Understanding of revenue, cost, and profit analysis, including budget variance reporting.
- Highly proficient in Excel with strong logical and problem-solving skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
