Under the supervision of the Operations and Maintenance Services Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of our electrical installations and acting as an expert with the maintenance teams in diagnosing and resolving electrical problems. You will contribute to the development and implementation of a culture that will enable the continuous improvement of all electrical project processes and deliverables. You will be responsible for managing small to medium-sized electrical projects in accordance with the provisions of the Engineers Act. Key Responsibilities:
- Act as project manager for improving and maintaining the SAQ's electrical assets
- Detect opportunities for projects to improve the reliability of electrical equipment and infrastructure
- Contribute directly to the development and tracking of budgets
- Analyze, design, and adapt electrical installations for buildings
- Work closely with employees, technicians, foremen, and other engineers to design and implement new equipment or modifications to existing equipment
- Participate in the training and development of technical personnel
- Provide technical support and assist maintenance personnel with electrical equipment and apparatus
- Follow up and provide recommendations on recurring issues
- Develop specifications and requirements for electrical equipment and electronic supplier tenders
- Prepare cost and time estimates, as well as design proposals for electrical and electronic systems, and write reports
- Ensure technical follow-up of subcontractors in your field of activity
- Ensure the continuity of work in accordance with requirements and follow up with contractors and their representatives, and write meeting minutes; conduct final inspections and provide revised original drawings showing the work as executed
- Accompany internal teams, consultants, and manufacturers in the implementation of projects
- Implement and ensure the application of a safety program for our electrical methods and installations, based on best industry practices
- Conduct feasibility studies for technological innovations
- Act as a resource person for automation of equipment and electrical distribution
- Provide electrical drawings to technical personnel as required
- Perform electrical equipment and apparatus sizing calculations and selection
- Investigate the causes of electrical equipment and electronic failures, analyze, and develop solutions for recurring problems
- Manage the machine safety program
- Manage the lockout/tagout program
- Implement and improve electrical preventive maintenance plans
- Be one of the company's representatives for the License of Constructor-Owner
Requirements:
- University degree in Electrical Engineering
- Member in good standing of the Order of Engineers of Quebec
- Three (3) years of experience in the tasks of the job
- Experience in electrical engineering and design, automation, instrumentation, and control
- Knowledge of applicable standards and electrical code
Technical Competencies:
- Good knowledge of low and medium voltage circuits
- Knowledge of production processes, equipment, and systems in the warehousing and automated order picking domain
- Experience in electrical safety and risk analysis
- Good mastery of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good mastery of the AutoCAD computer-aided design software, an asset
Non-Technical Competencies:
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to simplify complex technical data
- Ability to work in a team in a respectful manner
- Ability to manage electrical projects
- Ability to collaborate flexibly and effectively with various stakeholders and represent the company well
