The Cigna Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Partnership Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Pharmaceutical Partnerships team, you will be responsible for executing and delivering on our company's strategy for pharmaceutical partnerships, with a focus on our Pharmaceutical Listing Agreement (PLA) strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Partnership Development: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers to foster the financial sustainability of our drug plans.
- Market Access and Negotiation: Lead the execution of the PLA negotiation process with pharmaceutical manufacturers, including negotiation strategy, negotiation phase, and contracting.
- Market Analysis and Intelligence: Monitor current market and external issues impacting pharmaceutical reimbursement, including industry trends, public policy, and the competitive landscape.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including our pharmaceutical manufacturer partners and representatives, to ensure effective communication and alignment.
- Contract Management: Oversee the day-to-day activities related to PLAs, ensuring the smooth operations and execution of agreements.
- Forecasting and Budgeting: Deliver annual PLA forecasts within budget.
- Experience: 5+ years in pharmaceutical market access, pharmacy, health insurance industry, or benefits management.
- Negotiation Experience: Minimum 4 years of direct rebate negotiations experience.
- Education: University Degree in Pharmacy, Business, Science, or related field preferred; clinical background considered a strong asset.
- Language Skills: Bilingual English and French is an asset.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Market access, benefits/insurance industry, value proposition development, drug reimbursement processes in the public and private payer landscape, public policy.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a demonstrated ability to create and deliver professional, impactful presentations.
- Negotiation and Influence: Strong ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with the ability to synthesize complex concepts/information.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Pharmaceutical Landscape: Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian pharmaceutical landscape, Pharmacy Benefit Management, and Provincial Formularies and Regulations.
