About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Utility Worker in the Patient Food Services department.

As a Utility Worker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service facilities. Your responsibilities will include preparing and serving meals and supplies to patients, residents, and staff, as well as cleaning and sanitizing patient trays and equipment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and serving patient meals and supplies
  • Cleaning and sanitizing patient trays and equipment
  • Receiving and storing supplies
  • Inventory management
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment

We are looking for an individual who is:

  • Grade 12/GED or equivalent
  • Experienced in customer service and food handling
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Competencies in other languages an asset

This is a casual relief position, and you will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends. You will be compensated at a rate of $20.02 per hour.
