Union rates apply, and all benefits are administered through the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 115.

Compensation Details

  • Hourly wage: $34-$37.76, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Vacation pay: 13% of your hourly earnings.
  • Benefits eligibility after 250 hours of work.
  • Pension contributions of $4.80 per hour worked.

Role Responsibilities

The Heavy Equipment Operator is tasked with the safe operation of heavy machinery, including rock trucks, front-end loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, and other equipment. Responsibilities include digging trenches, fine grading, and loading trucks, as well as maintaining and securing all equipment in compliance with regulations.

The Pipe Layer plays a vital role in the successful execution of construction projects. This position involves pipe installation, operating and maintaining compaction equipment, site preparation, and excavation. The Pipe Layer must adhere to organizational, provincial, and federal safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in civil construction is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Proficient in operating required equipment safely.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Essential active listening skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
  • Capable of following instructions diligently.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with the public.
