About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Technologist to join our Corporate Electrical Engineering Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to numerous plants on the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to resolve issues and provide training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configuration of new MES applications, including implementation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Modification of existing applications to provide reports and data required to increase operating efficiencies and reduce downtime.
  • Modification of Allen Bradley PLC and HMI applications to support data collection.
  • Debugging of SQL databases scripts, data collection, and data integrity.
  • Upkeep of server maintenance for assisting data collection.
  • Development of new reports/dashboards by researching and obtaining functional specifications from end-users.
  • Training and developing compliance metrics for usage of the system with end-users and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Integration with ERP and EAM systems and maintaining cross-functional connections from the MES.

Requirements:

  • Degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering/Technology.
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC for connectivity, data collection, and development of ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet networks and network communication standards.
  • Working knowledge of C, C#, and Python; API, SQL, FactoryTalk HMI Systems, and Directory.
  • Understanding of OPC connectivity for Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, etc., using RSLINX, KEPWARE, etc.
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis in calculating important KPIs such as OEE, OTE, OME, etc.
  • Knowledge of Ignition and Scada System would be an asset.
  • Computer skills – AutoCAD Electrical, MS Project, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Organizational skills – able to manage projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, problem-solving, research, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to travel to sites across North America and Europe.
