At Transat, we're committed to providing exceptional flight training programs that empower individuals to become successful airline pilots. Our Ascension Academy is designed for those with little to no flying experience, offering a comprehensive training program that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience.

Your Training Program

  • The Ascension Academy is a 18-month program that takes place at CAE's state-of-the-art facilities in Phoenix, Arizona. Our expert instructors will guide you through a structured training program that covers all aspects of commercial aviation.
  • We've partnered with CAE, a world-renowned leader in pilot training, to ensure our program meets the highest industry standards.
  • Upon successful completion of the program, you'll be hired by Air Transat and become a part of our team of experienced pilots.
  • We've also established financing mechanisms with banking institutions to make our program more accessible.

Phoenix's Campus

  • The Ascension Academy program is designed to be completed in approximately 18 months, with most of the training taking place at CAE's facilities in Phoenix, Arizona.

Once You're Hired

  • As a Transat pilot, you'll have the opportunity to operate our modern, fuel-efficient aircraft, including the A330 and A321.
  • You'll work with the latest technological tools in the industry and fly to top international destinations, including Europe, the Caribbean, Central America, and the east and west coasts of the United States.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the Ascension Academy program, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, have little to no previous flight experience, and meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old at the start of training
  • Have a completed high school diploma
  • Have English proficiency equivalent to ICAO level 4

Application Process

To apply for the Ascension Academy program, please submit your application, including a copy of your passport and resume. We'll review your application and contact you for an assessment and interview. If selected, you'll receive a conditional letter of employment prior to commencing your training.

Additional Information

We have four cohorts per year to start your training: March, June, September, and December.
