Role Overview
As a Lead Product Manager within the KYC Controls team at Wise, your primary objective is to establish exemplary standards for our global Know Your Customer (KYC) controls, ensuring they are compliant, effective, and user-friendly.

You will focus on either the Consumer (KYC) or the Business (KYB) segment of the controls domain. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving strategic initiatives, accelerating project execution, and promoting a culture centered around data-driven decision-making.
  • Safeguarding customer identities while ensuring compliance and enhancing control effectiveness, thereby playing a crucial role in Wise's global growth and expansion.
  • Leading a cross-functional team comprising Engineers, Operations, and Product Compliance Managers to implement innovative improvements in KYC controls and develop new solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, define, and prioritize opportunities based on a thorough understanding of customer needs, industry trends, and regulatory frameworks.
- Serve as the subject-matter expert on all KYC/KYB initiatives and projects, guiding teams on best practices and compliance strategies.
- Utilize data to shape product strategy, establish key performance indicators, and enhance the effectiveness of our KYC/KYB control suite.
- Gain deep insights into either our business or consumer customer base through feedback, behavioral analysis, and key risk indicators to improve KYC/KYB controls.

Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with dedicated KYC/KYB Experience teams to balance the necessity for effective controls with the goal of delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to align on strategy, share execution progress, and integrate feedback.

Stakeholder Management
Demonstrate excellence in managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders on a global scale.

Data Proficiency
Possess strong analytical skills, comfortable in extracting and synthesizing data for quantitative research and informed decision-making. You should have experience managing a comprehensive range of KYC/KYB controls across multiple jurisdictions, rather than focusing on a single control.
