Waste Management Operations Supervisor

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and proactive individual to join our team as a Waste Management Operations Supervisor. This role is vital in promoting waste diversion and contributing to the circular economy.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at the Recycling and Waste Centre, including scale management, waste handling, and recycling depot activities.
- Ensure the facility operates smoothly in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Optimize the handling of recyclables and waste to enhance production while prioritizing safety.
- Set and achieve budgetary goals through effective resource management, including labor, equipment, and supplies.
- Assess and evaluate work processes to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Supervise the implementation and monitoring of processes aimed at improving safety, productivity, and profitability.
- Address customer service concerns and collaborate with staff to minimize complaints.
- Participate in regular meetings with stakeholders to report on facility operations.
- Present monthly financial outcomes to senior management.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to senior management.
Qualifications
- Relevant post-secondary education is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A positive mindset that fosters a collaborative work environment.
- Experience in the waste management and recycling sector is advantageous.
- Familiarity with operational financial management is preferred.
