Research Scientist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Lallemand Biofuels & Distilled Spirits. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for conducting research on the impact of fermentation parameters on ethanol production and the formation of flavour-active molecules.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments to optimize fermentation processes;
  • Generating ideas for new commercial products and research topics;
  • Developing new assays to answer technical questions;
  • Presenting results to internal stakeholders;
  • Writing internal reports and Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Training and supervising interns and research assistants;
  • Collaborating with internal and external teams of scientists.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Ph.D. or M.Sc. in a relevant science, with 3+ years of experience in an appropriate field. You should have practical experience in bacteria or yeast research, knowledge of microbial physiology and metabolic networks, and excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with fermentation and distillation processes, experience in advanced statistical analysis and experimental design, and fluency in French are assets.
