Research Scientist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Lallemand Biofuels & Distilled Spirits. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for conducting research on the impact of fermentation parameters on ethanol production and the formation of flavor-active molecules.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments to optimize fermentation processes;
  • Generating new ideas for commercial products and research topics;
  • Developing new assays to answer technical questions;
  • Presenting results to internal stakeholders;
  • Writing internal reports and Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Training and supervising interns and research assistants;
  • Collaborating with internal and external teams of scientists.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in microbial research, preferably with a Ph.D. or M.Sc. in a relevant field. You should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality research results. Additionally, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, experience in fermentation and distillation processes, advanced statistical analysis, and experimental design would be an asset. Fluency in French is also a plus.
