Youth Support Specialist

As a Child and Youth Worker at Chisholm Services for Children, you will play a crucial role in supporting the well-being and development of children and youth in various settings. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 80 hours bi-weekly.
Key Responsibilities- Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and case histories to track progress and outcomes.
- Administrative Duties: Engage in various office activities to support program operations.
- Life Skills Development: Implement workshops aimed at enhancing essential life skills.
- Client Assessment: Evaluate clients' strengths and developmental needs to tailor support effectively.
- Service Coordination: Develop and implement community-based services.
- Housekeeping and Meal Preparation: Assist with daily living activities to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide support during critical situations, including suicide prevention.
- Conflict Resolution: Manage and resolve conflicts among clients.
- Supervision: Oversee activities of clients in group homes and during family visits.
- Behavior Management: Execute behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions.
- Counseling: Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support emotional and social development.
- Collaboration: Liaise with other agencies and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Program Evaluation: Maintain statistics for program assessment and improvement.
- Client Support: Assist clients with special needs and accompany them to appointments.
Applicants should possess a college diploma or equivalent experience in a related field. Relevant certifications such as Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), and First Aid are highly regarded.
